Broken spring. Car trapped. Door off track. We pick up every call — day, night, blizzard, whatever — and dispatch within the hour.
Torsion and extension springs. The #1 reason Detroit doors stop working — especially in February when the cold contracts steel overnight. We carry 25K and 50K cycle-rated springs.
LiftMaster, Genie, Chamberlain, Linear — we service and install all major brands. Belt-drive, chain-drive, and DC-battery backup units available. Same-day swap most models.
Clopay, Wayne Dalton, Amarr, CHI. Insulated steel, carriage-house, full-view glass. An uninsulated door in a Michigan winter is a heating bill. We'll size and quote on-site.
Frayed cable? Roller off track? These fail fast in freezing weather — a snapped cable can take out a panel. We stock both for same-day fixes on most door widths.
Door jumped the rails from an impact or snapped cable? Don't force it. We re-hang and inspect for panel or hardware damage. Most rescues done in under 90 minutes.
Before Michigan winter hits, our 25-point inspection catches what the cold will break. Lubrication, balance check, safety reversal test, hardware tightening. Book in October.
Our dispatchers pick up every call. Night techs are rostered seven days a week. When you call at 11 PM, you get a person — not a "leave a message and we'll get back to you Monday."
We quote before we touch anything. The number we give you on the phone is the number on the invoice. No "oh, and that part was extra" once the job's half done.
Springs, cables, rollers, openers — our trucks carry the parts that Michigan cold breaks most. Most repairs close in one trip. No ordering parts and scheduling a second visit.
Parts and labor, 24 months, no asterisks. If something we installed or repaired fails before 24 months, we come back and fix it at no charge — guaranteed in writing.
"Spring snapped at 6 AM on a Monday — car was stuck inside. Called Rapid Rise and a tech was at my house by 7:15. Fixed in under an hour. Wish all contractors operated this way."
"They quoted me $285 on the phone. The invoice was $285. That alone puts them in the top 5% of contractors I've ever dealt with. Did a great job on the cable and rollers too."
"Door came off track on a Friday night. They sent someone by 9 PM, had it back on in 40 minutes, didn't charge me a weekend surcharge. I'm done calling anyone else for this stuff."
"Three Rapid Rise visits over five years — spring, opener, tune-up. Every time: on time, honest quote, no upsell pressure. They're the only name I give my neighbors in Southgate."
Day or night. Our dispatcher takes your address, asks two questions about what's wrong, and gives you an arrival window on the spot.
Usually within 60 minutes. The tech inspects, tells you exactly what's broken and why, and gives you the dollar amount before touching anything.
Most repairs take 45–90 minutes. We test the door, hand you warranty paperwork, and leave the workspace cleaner than we found it.
Dan and Kevin Brewster started Rapid Rise out of their Dearborn garage after Dan spent six years doing warranty repairs for a regional dealer. He knew where the industry's pain points were: slow response, mystery pricing, techs who upsell instead of fix.
The name came from their rule: no customer waits more than an hour for a dispatcher response. They called it Rapid Rise because your day shouldn't stop just because a door did.
Seventeen years later, Rapid Rise runs 9 trucks across the metro. Same rule still applies.
If you're within 40 miles of downtown Detroit, we come to you — same rates, same response time.
Yes. We have night technicians rostered every night of the year. Call (313) 555-0187 and tell the dispatcher you're locked in — they'll prioritize your ticket and give you an ETA right away. Most after-hours calls are on-site within 75 minutes.
A single torsion spring replacement runs $225–$385 installed, depending on the spring's cycle rating and your door's weight. Double-spring systems: $375–$550. We almost always recommend replacing both springs at once — if one snapped, the other is close. We quote before we start.
We charge a $49 after-hours dispatch fee for calls between 9 PM and 7 AM. Weekends have no surcharge. The after-hours fee is waived if the total repair comes to $300 or more.
All of them — LiftMaster, Genie, Chamberlain, Sommer, Linear, Marantec. For new installs, we're a LiftMaster Pro dealer and stock the 8580W and 87504-267 smart units. If you want a specific model, call and we'll confirm availability and lead time.
Parts and labor, 24 months, all jobs. If a spring we installed breaks before 24 months, we replace it at no charge. Same for openers, cables, and rollers. The only exclusions are cosmetic damage (dents, paint) and damage from a vehicle impact after the repair.
Almost always a broken torsion spring. The spring is under hundreds of pounds of tension — when it snaps, you hear it anywhere in the house. Don't try to operate the door manually; the weight without spring assist can injure you or strip the opener. Call us and we'll walk you through holding it safely until we arrive.
